How to Apply


Lincoln Trail College Scholarships

PASA and SASA Scholarships:  Please note the following change from last updated:

PASA: Students with a 3.5 GPA or better are eligible to apply for this scholarship that covers full tuition and  required books.

SASA: Students with a 2.5 GPa or better are eligible to apply for this scholarship that covers full tuition only.

Fine and Performing Arts Tuition Waivers are available and require an audition with an LTC instructor.

LTC Foundation Scholarships: Mrs. Oxford has emailed all seniors the attached application, so take a moment and check your Gmail account for the application.

Download and print the application from your gmail account. ALL students planning to attend LTC should apply for the LTC Foundation scholarships!!!

Mrs. Oxford has to complete a part of these scholarships! Do not fill in your GPA or Class Rank or test scores! Mrs. Oxford will complete that portion.

You will also need to write a personal letter. We have personal letter examples in the Guidance Office

All completed scholarship applications are due to Mrs. Oxford by Friday, January 26. This gives Mrs. Oxford time to complete her portion and Mrs. Pippin time to gather all of the transcripts. Mrs. Oxford will hand deliver these applications for you to LTC. The preferred deadline in January 31, 2018.

EIU $2000 Scholarship for students planning to attend EIU

It's a one-time, $2,000 scholarship for high school seniors in east-central Illinois who are leaders and role models in their community.

They'll need to get a letter of recommendation from a teacher, principal or other mentor, as well as write a one-page personal essay addressing one of the following:

How have you been a role model for students at your high school and peers in your community?

How would you continue being a role model as an EIU student? Please provide examples of involvement, leadership, community service, and recognition.

There are no requirements for GPA or test scores. Eleven students will be chosen for this award, made possible by generous donations from Wells Fargo and other local businesses. They are encouraging other local businesses to donate to this scholarship fund, so that hopefully, it will benefit both students and the local community for years to come.

Students must be admitted to EIU and turn in all scholarship application materials by March 15, 2018. To turn in application materials and find out more information about this scholarship, they can visit

Illinois School Counselor Association $1000 Scholarship

Students who will be completing high school in 2018 are eligible for this non-renewable $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship can be used to support the following post-secondary options: 4 year college/university, 2 year college/university, trade school or apprenticeship program. Two scholarships will be available.

In 500 words or less, write responses to the following questions. Applicants must answer Essay Questions #1 and #2. They can choose to answer either Question #3 or Question #4.

1.   What are three qualities your school counselor possesses and why these are important to students?

2.   Explain a time when your school counselor helped you work through a situation and how this made an impact on you.

3.   How have you grown as a person and what important things have you learned about yourself in high school?

4.   What is an obstacle you have had to work through during high school? How have you changed as a result?

Aspiring Nurse Scholarship

We will award this scholarship to the applicant who best demonstrates:

+ A track record of academic excellence, particularly in science and mathematics

+ A passion for the nursing profession and the overall field of healthcare

This scholarship competition is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue college education in nursing, including LPN / LVN, ADN, and BSN programs. Scholarship applications will be accepted until midnight on August 31, 2018.

Michael Hindman Teacher Education Scholarship

$1000 awarded to a high school senior but will be received when students begins student teaching experience

Norris Electric Scholarships

A total of ten scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded in 2018 through the Thomas H. Moore Illinois Electric Cooperatives (IEC) Memorial Scholarship Program. The Illinois Electric Cooperatives will award nine academic scholarships to high school seniors through a memorial scholarship fund designed to financially assist deserving students in the “electric cooperative family.” In addition, a tenth scholarship will be awarded to assist with costs in attending an electric lineworker school.

In addition to the Illinois Electric Scholarships, Norris Electric awards three $1,000 scholarships. The scholarships will each be awarded to a student who is the son or daughter of a Norris Electric Cooperative member who is currently receiving services from the cooperative at the time the scholarship application is submitted.

2018 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Applications

High school seniors who demonstrate exceptional leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply for the 2018 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 total per recipient – and supports them as they lead and serve in college and beyond.
