School Counselor (RHS)

  • Full-time school counselor position for the 2025-2026 school year
  • Salary determined by education level and years of service, per salary schedule (Step 1- $43,897 for 2025-2026)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as counselor/consultant to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Offer casework services to children who have been referred and seem unable to adjust or conform to the school setting or management techniques.
  • Assist students with college application and career planning.
  • Make referrals of children or families to appropriate agencies when severe problems hinder adjustment.
  • Work closely with administrators when developing master schedules.
  • Collaborate with other agencies on behalf of students, when requested by parents.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling/Social Work
  • Be registered as a Certified Counselor/Social Worker
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
